Getting Started

HZ Chat is designed for fast, lightweight, and private conversations. This guide will walk you through the basic steps to create, share, join, and leave a chat session.

HZ Chat requires no registration for immediate access, and all messages and files are non-persistent — they exist only during active sessions and are automatically purged once the session ends.

Use this guide to get started quickly and understand how to manage temporary conversations efficiently.

01 / Create Chat

To start a new chat session:

  • On the home screen, click the Start New Chat button.
  • A random Chat Code will be generated automatically, and you’ll be taken directly into the chat page.

02 / Share Chat

Once your chat session is created, you can easily share access with others:

  • Copy the Chat Code: On the chat page header (left side), your current chat code is displayed. Click it to copy instantly.

  • Copy Full URL: Use the Share button on the right toolbar to copy the complete chat link.

  • Show QR Code: The same Share menu allows you to generate a QR code for quick joining.

03 / Join Chat

Participants can join an existing chat session in several ways:

  1. Using a Chat Code: Enter the shared Chat Code on the home screen and click Join.

  2. Using a Full URL: Open the complete chat link directly in a browser.

  3. Using a QR Code: Scan the shared QR code with a mobile device to open the chat in a browser.

All messages and files are synced instantly across active participants, ensuring a real-time collaborative experience.

04 / Leave Chat

To exit a chat session, use the Leave option in the chat page:

  • Click the More Options menu (three dots) in the top-right corner and select Leave Chat.

  • A confirmation dialog will appear, allowing you to leave the chat safely.

For Chat Creators:

  • If you are the creator, a notice will appear:
    “You’re the creator of this chat. If you leave now, the chat will stay open and others can continue chatting.”

  • You have the option to End this chat for everyone by checking the box.

    • Everyone currently in the chat will be notified.
    • The chat will automatically close in 1 minute, and all participants will be disconnected once the countdown ends.
